We took Jessica out for her third backcountry weekend in a row, aiming for the trifecta of difficult skiing conditions. We were lucky to find 15″ of new snow that had been subject to 2 or 3 days of above freezing temperatures and several inches of rain. Had to be some of the soggiest, heaviest skiing I’ve ever done, but we had a good time, dug some pits and did some beacon practice before running home to the beer and dry clothes.

Beer and dry clothes sound about right. We’ve cancelled the second day of the open studio because of at least 18 inches of snow overnight. Now slowly digging out and trying to see if we can get Gus to the train in Plymouth later tonight. I’d rather the snow stayed in the Cascades, to tell you the truth …

Poor Jessica … she needs to get out on a tour with some decent snow! What a trooper though! Nice work ya’ll getting out in some marginal conditionals.

Bummer about the snow. Hopefully you didn’t build it up too much with tales of The Legendary Day At Yodelin Which Shall Never Be Repeated.
